Zagreb, Croatia - Following the very successful first call under the European Space Agency (ESA) tender, on Thursday 9 September 2021, an information day of the second national call for project proposals was held.
The information day was held in the premises of Zagreb Innovation Centre (ZICER) with the aim of acquainting Croatian stakeholders, primarily scientists and entrepreneurs, with the conditions, rules and possibilities of applying for the tender within the ESA.
The second call implies the continuation of cooperation between the Republic of Croatia and the European Space Agency and represents a step towards Croatia's accession to ESA. The day brought together numerous Croatian scientists, entrepreneurs and representatives of non-governmental organizations in the field of space and space technologies.
ESA representatives have indicated that the second call is aimed at scientific organizations and Croatian companies in areas that include Earth observation, Space technology, Space safety, Space Science and Awareness. The call for project proposals will be open from September 17, 2021 to October 25, 2021, and the signing of the contract is expected in February 2022.
The participants of the information day also had the opportunity to hear more about the activities and opportunities offered by ESA.
Given the significant and rapid growth of the space sector and space technologies, such tenders enable consolidation of relations and strengthening of partnerships between the scientific community and entrepreneurs and contribute to a better positioning of Croatia in the field of space.
