Final step taken in Croatia's accession to OECD in education field
At the meeting of the OECD (Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development) Education Committee held on 19 and 20 November 2024 in Paris, a discussion was held on the accession of the Republic of Croatia to the OECD as a key step in completing the accession process in this area.
The OECD representatives gave a short presentation of their analysis and conclusions as regards Croatia's alignment with OECD recommendations in the field of education and skills, evaluating Croatia's readiness and capability to implement the OECD key legal instruments falling within the competence of the Education Committee, along with our educational policies and practices.Minister Radovan Fuchs held a presentation on the Croatian education system and reflected upon the ongoing strategic initiatives and reforms.
To conclude, the OECD confirmed the alignment of Croatia's policies in the field of education and skills with the policies of OECD member countries. Moreover, Croatia's efforts to enhance education and skills as well as keep up with the best practices at the European and global level were recognised, with the aim of further international networking and improving the national education system.
