Accessibility Statement

The Ministry of Science, Education and Youth is committed to making its websites accessible in accordance with the Act on the Accessibility of Websites and Programming Solutions for Mobile Devices of Public Sector Bodies in the Republic of Croatia (Official Gazette No. 17/19; hereinafter: the Act) transposing the Directive (EU) 2016/2102 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 26 October 2016 on the accessibility of the websites and mobile applications of public sector bodies (OJ EU, L 327, 2.12.2016).

This Accessibility Statement applies to the website of the Ministry of Science, Education and Youth located at:

Level of compliance

The website on the domain https://mzom.gov.hr/ is partially compliant with the Act due to the inconsistencies listed below.

Inaccessible content

The content listed below is inaccessible for the following reasons:
  • Images are not accompanied by a suitable description due to the fact that the current functionality of the web publishing system on the above-mentioned website does not support this;
  • There are some images that are accompanied by text content, but which are not logotypes;
  • The content of certain links is not clearly described;
  • Some files are not available in a format that can be read by a screen reader;
  • Some datasets are not available in a machine-readable format;
  • Some published content is presented in tabular presentation;
  • The website does not provide the optimal use of screen readers for the desktop and mobile platforms for people with vision impairment;
  • Part of the text is highlighted by underlining, in the same manner as the links;
  • Some icons are not accompanied by a description of their functionalities;
  • The contrast between some elements is not satisfactory;
  • A fewer number of photos are accompanied by textual content;
  • When saving content in different formats it is not possible to choose how to store content between device memory and external memory;
  • The website does not provide the possibility of using voice commands to facilitate accessibility for persons with motor disorders, chronic diseases and multiple difficulties;
  • Some photos do not contain the alternative descriptive text or ALT attributes;
  • The simple, readable fonts without serif features have not been used for part of the content;
  • There is no option to turn on the font for people with dyslexia.

The Ministry of Science, Education and Youth is working to eliminate the observed inconsistencies.

Preparation of this Accessibility Statement

This statement was drawn up on 10 September 2020 according to the Model Accessibility Statement which is in line with Directive (EU) 2016/2102 of the European Parliament and of the Council on the accessibility of the websites and mobile applications of public sector bodies which was established by Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2018/1523.
The assessment of compliance with accessibility requirements is the result of a self-assessment by the Ministry of Science, Education and Youth.
The statement was last reviewed in October 2024.
The Ministry of Science, Education and Youth will regularly revise this statement after removing the causes of inaccessibility of certain content.
