Minister Fuchs received the CERN delegation during their visit to Croatia
The Minister of Science, Education and Youth, Prof. Radovan Fuchs, PhD welcomed the delegation of the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN) during their technical visit to the Republic of Croatia on Thursday, February 6.
The Minister of Science, Education and Youth, Prof. Radovan Fuchs, PhD welcomed the delegation of the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN) during their technical visit to the Republic of Croatia on Thursday, February 6. The five-member CERN delegation is on an official visit from February 6 to 7, aiming to evaluate Croatia’s associate membership in CERN, as five years have passed since the country’s accession to this prestigious organization in 2019.During the visit, the CERN delegation will assess Croatia’s research and innovation capacities, compliance with CERN policies, and the progress made through associate membership. To gain a comprehensive insight, delegation members will meet with representatives from the scientific and business community as well as key policymakers.
On the first day of the visit, the delegation met Croatian scientists at the Institute of Physics, who have been collaborating with CERN for many years. They also visited the Center of Excellence for Data Science and Cooperative Systems (ACROSS-DataScience) at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing, University of Zagreb.
On the second day, the delegation will visit the Regional Center of Excellence for Robotic Technologies (CRTA) at the University of Zagreb Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture. They will also meet with representatives of Croatia’s business sector, including a meeting at the The Croatian Chamber of Economy.
