Models and Recommendations for Work in Conditions related to COVID-19 Disease in Pedagogical/School Year 2020/2021

The Ministry of Science and Education publishes the proofread version of the document Models and Recommendations for Work in Conditions related to COVID-19 Disease in the Pedagogical/School Year 2020/2021, which proposes models and offers recommendations for educational work and teaching in kindergartens and schools.

The aim of the recommendations is to ensure as secure as possible conditions for performing educational work with the acceptance of specificity regarding the age of children and students, as well as different conditions for work in educational institutions.

The document builds on the measures proposed by the Working Group appointed on 7 August 2020 and elaborated in the Croatian Institute of Public Health (CIPH) document Instructions for Prevention and Suppression of the COVID-19 Epidemic related to the Work of Preschool Institutions, Primary and Secondary Schools in the School Year 2020/2021 of 24 August 2020.

The Instructions emphasize the health-epidemiological component and this document emphasizes the educational (pedagogical) component.

These documents are complementary to each other, and for the completeness of information, it is necessary to examine the contents of both documents, as well as the contents of two documents published by the CIPH in the meantime.

Those are:

1. Selected Health and Organizational Issues Related to the Work of Preschool Institutions, Primary and Secondary Schools in the School Year 2020/2021 of 1 September 2020; and
2. Diseases and Health Conditions that May Increase the Risk for Serious Forms of COVID-19 Disease of 2 September 2020.

If certain issues remain open even after reading the aforementioned documents, the Ministry will resolve them with stakeholders using dialogue, mutual respect, and open communication.
